Ewoks in Ulm

Good morning! Welcome to day 2 of our great adventure! This morning, we got up early, had a nice breakfast of bread, jam and cheese at the pension, hit the grocery store to pick up some necessities left behind in Rome and then hit the road.

The plan for today was to drive a little closer to our first major destination, Berlin. Fortunately, we have some good friends that we met in Rome who now live in Neu-Ulm, Germany. TomTom estimated the journey to take 90 minutes (yesterday, it had estimated 8 hours). Thanks to the German Autobahn, our trusty Audi A3 and my lead foot, we were in Ulm in just over an hour. I really like driving this car.

After meeting up with A&H at their apartment, A, Kelly and I took the car down to Schloss Lichtenstein, a small castle we visited a couple of weeks ago. We didn't care about the castle this time. Instead, we were going to play on the ropes course that reminded me a lot of the Ewok village from Return of the Jedi.

At the Ewok Village, we were provided climbing harnesses and given instructions on how to use them by a nice german girl who did a bang up job explaining everything in english for us. After that, they set us loose on the course. There were a total of 8 courses laid out through the trees of varying degrees of difficulty. We selected route number 3 as a warm up. Kelly and A sent me first since I have a bit of a problem with heights (and death) but we made it through the first course pretty easily. After that we moved on to some of the more "interesting" courses where Kelly and A did their best to try to kill me. See below for some photos from the day. Needless to say, our bodies will be sore on Sunday!

Note that this was written by Aaron. I just added photos, but I couldn't decide which ones to use :) Also, we were sore the next day!

Oh My God! Yes, if God had intended me to hang by ropes, He would have given me the gumption. My fear of heights and death must be greater than Aaron's because there is NO WAY!!!! I did like your pictures and the movie since you must still be alive in order to have posted all of this! LOL
