Anyway, we have been really enjoying our time back in Italy after spending time with family and friends over the holidays. We got our official end date, and that really hit home that we will be leaving soon. We were really sad to get the end, but look forward to enjoying friends and life here for our last few months.
Last weekend we were planning to ski at Roccaraso on Saturday, but with warm weather and rain, it wasn't ideal. Instead, on Friday we went to Gaudi with Giancarlo and Rosita. We had a great time and food (for me, pizza Pompeii with broccoli and sausage...yummy). After we went back to our house and played the Wii! It was so much fun!
The four of us at our apartment. We will miss them!
Giancarlo in action during a game of bowling. He is hilarious!
On Saturday we decided to go to Deruta (near Perugia). The town is known for its ceramics, and we thought it might be nice to treat ourselves to something as a souvenir. It is small and has about 100 shops for ceramics. Anyway, the weather was terrible (pouring rain, wind and cold). When we got there, ALL the shops were closed, and yes, we were there to shop. We did find a great, inexpensive restaurant, so that worked out well. We drove over a mountain on the way home so Aaron could investigate a bike ride. That was a bit frightening in the dark and pouring rain, but we made it!
One of our three photos from Deruta. A self portrait while we were looking for a shop that was open.
Another self portrait. You could tell it was a good day by the hair, right? Yeah, no luck finding any places open.
Aaron fixing the navigation system. You can see the lovely weather in the background.
On Sunday we didn't do much of anything. I got up late! Lazy me! We did some cleaning of the apartment, played some games, and watched American Football playoffs on the satellite.
